Governors are a voluntary body of people who guide and support the strategic direction of the school. They are members of the school team and their contribution to the running of the school is highly valued. Our Governing Body meets regularly to help with strategic planning for the school. The Governing Body is made up of people from various occupations and backgrounds, including those that live within our local community and have children within the school. They contribute a diverse range of skills and knowledge to successfully support and lead the school’s development
Our Governing Body consists of a dedicated group of volunteers, including parents, staff, local authority representatives, and co-opted members. Each member brings a unique set of skills and expertise to ensure that our single school is well-run and always striving to do the best for our children.
The role of the governing body is a strategic one, its key functions are to:
Set the aims and objectives for the school
Set the policies for achieving those aims and objectives
Set the targets for achieving those aims and objectives
Monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making towards the achievement of its aims and objectives
Be a source of challenge and support to the headteacher
Our dedicated governing body members each take on specific areas of responsibility to ensure comprehensive oversight and support across all aspects of school operations.
